BENEFITING: JAMES 127 MISSION FRIENDS
The Widow's Might is in need of a vehicle! The Widow's Might (TWM) is located about 15 min drive outside of Pemba, Mozambique, a good size town with many shops. By public transport, it can anywhere from 1 to 3 hours and then there are the days that chapas (small buses) don't run.
Without transportation TWM is left having to rely on friends or taxis for just about everything! A trip to the grocery store, transportation of materials, doctor visits, bottles of clean drinking water and more.
A few more reasons a vehicle would help their ministry:
- It would be possible during a project to make runs to town to buy materials and have the ability to transport. Currently they just have to stop what they are doing and wait for friends to help, which can take days.
- Missionaries would be able to connect with other missionaries. The importance of a missionary having friends and peers can't be over looked.
- They would be able to travel 40 minutes out to their other property and future ministry site. TWM hasn't been to this property in 1.5 years because they have had no way of going.
With vehicle options in Mozambique being limited or very expensive, TWM decided to order a vehicle from japan (www.japanesevehicle.com)! Ordering a car can be very hit or miss and as soon as half the money is raised they will purchase a vehicle
TWM was able to puchase a 4 wheel-drive 2002 Honda Stream with 56,000 miles! BUT they still have to come up with the import fees.
They are so excited that they are able to get something with 4 wheel-drive for $6,000 (including import fees)!
