BENEFITING: WARRIOR THUNDER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 29, 2017
This event is to raise awareness for the needs of Veterans, particularly those with injuries and illnesses like Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma.
The money raised from this event will fund another Warrior Retreat. Our Warrior Retreats provide an opportunity for Veterans, Military and their Families to learn about alternative and complimentary therapies such as yoga, tai chi, meditation and mindful eating. These therapies can help break the chain of institutional-cause addiction to opiods and other medications, drug and alcohol addiction and dangerous behavior.
This event will also bring together communities as nine of our awesome members walk, nonstop, with rucksacks on, 200 miles of Massachusetts back roads from Bates Memorial Park in Hancock, MA to the birthplace of America, Plymouth Rock, MA.
We will stop along with way to be with our communities such as Veteran Service Organizations, local Fire Departments, Town Halls and Parks, and other Veteran Memorials.
The event will be tough on our members, brutal at times as they walk through the heat and rains of deep summer. But their goal is clear...we will show the Veterans and members of our community that we are here to heal the military-civilian divide, help heal our injured Veterans and to demonstrate our resolve in supporting those who have supported us.
We are proud that no member of our organization receives any salary or compensation of any kind.
This is an volunteer team with operating expenses of just barely 5% (very low for a nonprofit).
We hope you will support this effort and help our Nation's most precious asset, her men and women whom have served.
