Veteran could lose home
Organized by: Catherine Elstun
My husband and I worked hard to buy our dream home almost two years ago. One month after we moved in the VA performed a complete knee replacement on me. One year and three months later my replacement was found to have come loose. I have been unable to work for almost two years and it will now be another year if never to be able to work . The VA approved me to be seen by a civilian surgeon since they had no one who could do the repair replacement. Due to the slow payment of the VA under their new Choice Care Program, The doctors and hospital are demanding that I pay. My husband works long hours, we have had to cash in our 401 k, we have sold anything of value and are at a point now where we are struggling to pay bills which usually leaves not much for groceries. I am scared we will become homeless. Thank God we have no children but we do have rescued dogs. I am horrified to have to ask for help, I am usually the one who helps others, but I feel I have no other option. If you have room in your heart and your wallet, I would be more than grateful. I believe in paying things forward so rest assured when I am able I will help someone else out. Thank you for your time and may God bless you for your generosity.
