The Veterans Start-Up Center is going to be a new veteran entrepreneur accelerator program here in the heart of the Silicon Prairie in Kansas City, Kansas. Why Kansas City? Because we have Google Fiber Gigabit Fast Internet, we have a great entrepreneur community supported by the Kauffman Foundation, we have a great tech talent base, and are located in the middle of 6 major military installations that provide access to great American service men and women looking to start their own small businesses

A recent Pew Research poll found that 48% of transitioning service members would rather become entrepreneurs than start a traditional career. The concept behind VSC is to provide a 12 week program that assists veterans in creating small businesses that in-turn hire other veterans.  Veterans make great entrepreneurs as they have stress tested leadership and management skills.

How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!  VSC-KC will serve as a prototype that can be copied nationwide.  Please take a look at the pictures associated with this campaign.  One is an military Operations Center overseas and one is a co-working center here in the US.  Veterans are used to working in these types of environements and will thrive in this model.
