BENEFITING: VHL ALLIANCE
According to researchers, "the VHL gene is the "Rosetta Stone" for cancer." - Dr. Berton Zbar (retired Chief of the Laboratory of Immunobiology, NIH-Frederick)
VHL Awareness is close to my heart and May is VHL Awareness month, so I am leading a fundraiser to help the VHL Alliance.
Von Hippel-Lindau is a rare form of genetic cancer that can affect anyone at any age. It is characterized by tumors and cysts in the brain, spinal chord, eyes, ears, adrenal glands, kidneys, and pancreas. After removal of these lesions, they typically return in the same or different locations.
The VHL Alliance uses donations for research grants and outreach/education. Please help to drive awareness and increase the donations/support for this organization so that more research can be done. The cure for cancer is in our genes.
Please visit www.vhl.org for more info, including their stellar use of funds (over 90% goes to research and education).
