The Village Health Partnership is a collaboration between villages, communities, local governments, hospitals, and nonprofits to better serve the women in rural Ethiopia - all of our projects are community-based and community-driven.
The VHP was formed when U.S. Doctor, Margaret "Migs" Muldrow returned to her childhood home and saw that nearly 1 in 10 women were dying and 4 in 10 were suffering debilitating complications due to pregnancy and childbirth.
Our programs are centered around education and training of rural health professionals, capacity building and providing equipment, and treatment and prevention. We do this so that we know the women who make it to a health facility are met with experts that have the knowledge, facilities, and equipment to treat and prevent their complications.
