Villa is raising money to purchase supplies for our Occupational Therapy Clinic. We specialize in working with children with autism, sensory processing disorders and other developmental/intellectual disabilities.
In an environment of love, care and hope, Villa Esperanza Services provides the tools and support necessary for children, adults and seniors with special needs to achieve their goals, live fulfilling lives and embrace a sense of belonging and acceptance. Our wide variety of programs and services assist infants to seniors in addition to providing support and encouragement to their families.
We change lives—from teaching a child with autism how to say “hello;” to giving an adult with Down syndrome the skills to earn a paycheck and the pride of having a job; to providing an intellectually disabled senior the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteering and helping others.
Though we serve all ages, this fundraiser will specifically fund supplies and equipment for our Occupational Therapy (OT) clinic. The OT Clinic at Villa specializes in working with children (4-22) who have moderate to severe developmental disabilities.
Children with autism and other developmental disabilities have sensory processing disorders, or what can be described as a neurological ‘traffic jam.’ Children may under or over-respond to physical contact, light, sound, food, clothing, and temperature. The goal of our OT Clinic is to teach and foster appropriate responses to sensation in an active, meaningful, safe and fun way so each child is able to behave and carry out everyday tasks appropriately. Occupational therapy helps our children find calm responses to the difficulties they encounter in every part of their day, including activities and exercises that improve concentration and focus, incorporating ways to self-sooth and calm.
While our OT Clinic receives funding from local school districts and regional centers, these funds do not cover all of the Clinic’s expenses and cannot be used to purchase supplies, equipment, or therapy materials. Please support our campaign to raise additional funds for these items so we can sustain quality occupational therapy for the children we serve.
