BENEFITING: VINTAGE COMMUNITY PANTRY
VINTAGE COMMUNITY PANTRY wrote -
We are Grand-Mothers, Grand-fathers, Aunts, Uncles and Assorted Oldsters who live in a “Seniors” facility. Of necessity, many of us rely on the Food Bank for regular, daily items.
To make that easier, especially for those who lack transportation, we established the Vintage Community Pantry which is actually a MINI-FOOD BANK. It is right here on-site and available to all our residents.
The Pantry provides emergency food to over 300 residents in this big apartment house. In addition it provides periodic, congregate meals to any resident who chooses to attend.
The Pantry is supplied with food from the Everett, Washington Food Distribution Center just like all the other 23 Food Banks. All our residents qualify to receive food from these Food Banks.
Meals, however, require purchase of food in larger quantities that can be prepared and served promptly. Therefore, money raised from this campaign will go primarily towards food purchases for meals.
In addition we need better refrigeration and storage shelves. If there is enough we could buy a small van to pick up food. Just something cheap and used with low mileage to make pickup runs.
DONATIONS IN ANY SIZE WILL BE WARMLY AND GRATEFULLY RECEIVED
