Virtual Gumbo Party
Organized by: KJ Garner
I'm KJ, and I connect people to resources they need. I like bikes, cooking for people, solving problems, and appreciating my world. This is where you can send me a few coins of attagirl for my 42nd birthday. Much of the capital raised here will go towards larger, long-term household bills (tree removal in back yard; main drain cleanout valve installation; HVAC maintenance). Some funds will go towards the purchase of gumbo ingredients, to culminate in a thank you for everyone who is in my life - gumbo to be served sometime in March 2017. And a tiny portion of funds will go towards the completion of my mannequin art projects, with the goal of submitting them for exhibition at a gallery space here in Nashville. I am a remarkably fortunate woman to have lived such a wonderful and fruitful life thus far. I recognise I've been far more fortunate than many. I have absolutely no fundraising goal here, because I can't bear to put a price tag on others' generosity. If you are reluctant to donate directly to me, why not support some of the groups that make me happy? The St. Anthony Association of North Carolina (http://www.stanthonync.org/donate) or Walk Bike Nashville (http://www.walkbikenashville.org/donate) are both fantastic organisations doing amazing things with limited resources. And if I find myself in a more solvent position - thanks to freelance work or business that you send my way - I promise to continue to be a friend, a fan, and a support system for your causes, your charities, and your lives.
