After my husband was killed in a military training accident, my son and I were introduced to Angels of America's Fallen. Angels of America’s Fallen is a 501(c)(3) charity that was founded on the idea that, with an average age of seven years old at the time of loss, the children of our fallen have lost their parent at the most crucial developmental time in their life. There should be specific support for these children now with guidance and healthy outlets during adolescence. AoAF stands with them during this critical time. Angels of America's Fallen supports children through age 18.
Because traditional extracurricular activities don't work for my son, Angels provided us with an adaptive stroller that allows us to be more active in a community in which we were previously limited because of my son's disability.
We are so grateful to AOAF and I wanted to find a way to give back to this amazing organization that gives so much to the surviving children of fallen service members and first responders. I came up with the idea of a virtual 5K so that anyone can register and participate wherever they are located.
Please join me and my son Ethan in honoring the legacy of our hero and the legacies of all fallen service members and first responders by participating in this event the weekend of August 12th-13th, 2017. August 16th would have been my husband's 38th birthday and honoring his legacy by giving back to Angels of America's Fallen would be a tremendous gift.
Thank you all in advance!
