BENEFITING: SKOLL COMMUNITY FUND
EVENT DATE: Sep 30, 2013
Help save lives. Kindle hope.
Massive exodus has begun. Victims are the most vulnerable to human trafficking during these trying times.
Super typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines last November 8,2013 and left a total devastation in the whole Philippines especially the Visayas Region.
Visayan Forum and our NGO Network seek donation and contribution to support relief operation and risk reduction efforts from a long term impact of the crisis.
We at Visayan Forum, acknowledge the fact that with disasters like this comes greater evil which is human trafficking specifically for sexual exploitation.
We’ve seen this happen in the Philippines during the most recent war in Zamboanga and past natural disasters.
People need to be warned that Traffickers lure children and the youth whose families are displaced and who are the most vulnerable at this most catastrophic time. Most importantly, we need to help bring people their most basic needs. As of today, Tacloban City is still in chaos and people are starving and getting sick because of the lack of supplies.
We are hopeful that you can help us spread our plea and mobilize your friends and network to help us gather support for the victims.
We immediately need to provide the victim’s basic needs such as water, food, clothing, sleeping materials, flash lights, medicine, and hygiene products.
Your $10 can create a food pack for a family of 5.
This consists of the ff:
3 kilos of rice
4 canned goods
4 instant noodles
bread / cupcakes
2 litres drinking water
Your $10 can also create a PLAY RELIEF pack:
Together we can help save lives. Together we can help prevent human trafficking in the most vulnerable communities in Leyte, Samar, Antique, Iloilo and Palawan.
