In the past year, the VNA provided 69,072 hours of personal care support and 29,829 skilled home visits 1200 Palliative Care contacts and 1857 hospice care visits to almost 3,000 individuals in our community. We're the only freestanding nonprofit home health care agency in Greater Cincinnati and through the generous support of United Way and individuals throughout the community, we provided $1.3 Million dollars’ worth of charity care services. Without these services, our community would look very different and many more individuals would have significant complications from health issues, unnecessary hospital stays or be forced to live in long term care facilities. Although we do receive some funding, it is not enough to cover the need of our community.
Many of our patients live alone and the only visits they ever receive are from one of our caregivers. Not only is our staff providing much needed medical attention and care to these patients, but they are also providing companionship and love to those who are forgotten in our community. As one of our patient’s physicians stated, “The VNA doesn’t just provide great care, they also provide great caring.”.
Here are a few of our patients comments:
“You are my Angel! You relieve stress just by being here, but you do more for me by being my friend. You really care for me and treat me like family – thank you so very much.” Dorothy S.
“Thank you for being so nice to me, I have never had anyone who cares so much, God Bless you!" Helen L.
“Thank you for visiting me, I always enjoy them. It’s like you bring sunshine to my Fridays, I love you!"” Sonnie V.
“You are so much more than my nurse. Since I live alone, you are also good company. You talk to me while you are here and we laugh a lot, I really look forward to your visits, thank you for making my days better.” Mary Ann K.
Please help us help those in need in our community by giving a heartwarming gift that shows and shares the true spirit of the season and keep our patients where they want to be...Home for the Holidays.
