BENEFITING: Buckminster Fuller Institute
Nosara MTB and Surf is a small business owned by Ricardo Moraga, a resident of Nosara who was born and raised in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. Ricardo currently has a small operation where he gives mountain biking tours, but he is looking for funding to open a bicycle shop that will provide communal tools, low cost bicycle parts, and free clinics where community members can learn how to repair and maintain their bicycles. A shop like this is so crucial because the majority of low wage workers here in Nosara depend on their bicycles to commute to and from work. The unpaved roads of Nosara can make this commute dangerous and at times even impossible if their bicycles are not in good condition. Nosara MTB and Surf will offer local workers and their families much needed services for safe and dependable transportation.
The initial fundraising goals is just $6000. This is the amount needed for Nosara MTB and Surf's community initiative. Any additional funds raised will go towards grants for future small Costa Rican owned businesses.
Our non-profit Vive El Sueño is a fiscally sponsored project of the Buckminster Fuller Institute.
