Volunteers of America Michigan is a non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping Michiganders in need get back on their feet and live their lives to the fullest. This includes providing over 800 housing units to low-income families and senior citizens and helping veterans reintegrate into society with housing and employment assistance. In the last year alone we provided over 123,000 meals from our Community Kitchen in Lansing and helped nearly 300 families find emergency shelter through our Hotel Emergency Lodging Program.
This year our goal is simple: to raise as much money as possible! Every donation we receive, no matter how big or how small, will help us fund the many wonderful social programs we run, including:
- Operation Backpack: our annual back-to-school program providing at-risk children with the school supplies they'll need to succeed.
- Adopt A Family: a Christmas charity entering its 22nd year of providing new toys, clothing and a holiday meal to low-income families and senior citizens.
- Capital Area Stand Down for Veterans: this Spring event takes place in downtown Lansing and provides a variety of services for veterans including health screenings, legal advice and job assistance.
With your help we can make a difference in the lives of our fellow Michiganders by giving them a helping hand.
