Hey everyone! Consider donating to our trip! You can impact the lives of hundreds of children with your donation! Did you know students with See More
After volunteering two years ago, the children and people of Zanzibar have left an imprint on our hearts. Did you know that most children with disabilities in Zanzibar are unable to attend school? They also do not have access to services, wheelchairs, and other resources we have available here in the United States. Also, class sizes in primary schools can go up to 100 students in one classroom and with one teacher. Also, most schools do not have desks, doors on their rooms, electricity, or running water. There are so many needs there and since we left we cannot stop thinking about our call to help them! Here are the direct links to what we were able to help with: Kindness-Is-A-Language-That-The-Deaf-Can-Hear-And-The-Blind-Can-See-Mark Twain Special-Education-and-Administration-Training-for-Headteachers On our previous trip, Kelly was asked to lead a two-day education seminar for principals (Head Teachers) in the West District. Since that trip, the ministry of education would like for her to return to provide training for the three other school districts on the island. This summer she plans to provide 5 days of training on topics such as leadership, MTSS/RTI, PBIS, being an instructional leader (teaching methods), and inclusive education for children with disabilities. Jake helped install ceiling fans and electricity in schools. We were both able to assist with passing out TOMs shoes, Personal Energy Transportation Carts, and lead a lesson at the only school on the island that serves children with special needs. We feel God has called us to return this summer for two weeks and that is why we are reaching out to you today. We need your support to fund our trip with CHaRA. The need is so great there and we cannot help them without your support financially or through prayer! Please pray for us and do not feel as though you have to give monetarily if you do not feel led to do so! Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
