Volunteer Trip to orphanage in Bogota
Organized by: Nicole Fischer
EVENT DATE Sep 19, 2014
For a long time, it's been a personal goal of mine to help people. To reach beyond the scope of my daily life and touch someone who needs maybe just a little extra love is something close to my heart. I am a mom, so helping children is a choice that means something special to me. This trip is a four day, annual trip that a small group from my work volunteers to use their flying benefits to get to and from. We will collect donations and buy groceries for the orphanage, take the children for a day trip to a farm to fly kites and play with animals and learn a little yoga, spend time doing small maintenance jobs such as painting, etc that are needed at their "home". The time we spend is so meaningful and I am excited to be apart of something so important to the kids there. The donations will be used first to offset the small cost of the trip for myself. Including $100 to secure my place for the trip, and $140 (total cost) for the hotel for 3 nights. I plan to contribute any and all donations in excess of my expense, to the grocery fund for the orphanage. They currently house around 75 children, and no donation is too small <3 I want to thank you for supporting this cause and for taking the time to read my story.
