Volunteering in Phobjikha Valley, Bhutan.
Organized by: Forrest Hartmann
I am volunteering in Bhutan, Asia for one year as a captive crane specialist. The motive for my work is to help care for an injured black-necked crane that was unable to migrate back home, her name is Karma. I am volunteering under the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature, and will share my training in captive crane management to ensure Karma is in knowledgeable hands once I leave. My volunteer work is 100% self-funded, and I need all the help I can get. Costs include airfare, rent, food, clothing, and other necessary living supplies. In June 2016 I began my service in Bhutan, where I will remain until May 2017. After my visa expires, I will return home to work and prepare for a second year of volunteering. Because I have already started my term, there is no chance of donations being wasted due to a cancelation. Any unused funds at the end of my term will contribute to my second year. Thank you for your interest and support in my cause.
