Hello Friends and Family,
I am volunteering as a midwife in Ghana this summer 2012 with the international volunteer organization, Projects Abroad. In my third year at University of San Francisco, I continue to delve into the field of Pre-Medicine along with International Relations. My passions for both areas of interest go hand in hand, fueling my ever growing education about healthcare and it's role in the world around me. To further my education, I plan to live in Ghana with a host family and work in the Maternity ward in a small clinic located in the city of Accra, Ghana. My work will include basic patient care as well as helping both pre- and post-natal patients. With more experience at the clinic, I will even be able to assist staff with deliveries.
With your support, I will be able to cover the cost of:
- airport pick-up/drop-off
- travel insurance
- medical insurance
- in-country induction with a staff member upon arrival
- support and 24 hour back up from local staff
Please consider supporting me in my endeavor.
