K is for Kids - Kiwanians Serving Children Locally and Globally
For nearly 70 years, Valley of the Sun Kiwanis (VOSK), has been serving Phoenix valley charities including Los Niños Hospital, Hacienda Children's Hospital, as well as needy families and Kiwanis International service projects worldwide.
In 2016, VOSK is trying something new and different—a “No Event Fundraiser.” While in the past, VOSK has raised money through events such as the World Famous BBQ and the Home Run 4 Kids project. This years "No Event Fundraiser" will have virtually no expenses or overhead, with nearly 100% of the proceeds benefiting needy projects and families.
The charitable causes we will support this year include:
UPWARD for Children and Families, a Phoenix-based nonprofit with more than 50 years of experience providing educational and therapeutic services to children with severe disabilities and partnering with local school districts to meet the needs of disabled children and their families.
The Eliminate Project, co-sponsored by Kiwanis International and UNICEF , with a goal of eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus, a deadly disease causing the death of approximately 49,000 babies and mothers each year. Kiwanis International and UNICEF are committed to raising $110 million to immunize expectant mothers from this disease. VOSK has committed to be part of the world-wide effort.
Thank you for taking the time to read this; our hope is that you will consider giving $10, $50, $100, or even $250. All donations are appreciated and have a profound impact on the lives of children we serve. If you're a past supporter, thank you for your continued support, we hope we can count on you this year as well.
