Hi. My name is Grover and I am asking that you vote for me to appear in the 2017 Second Chance Cocker Rescue (SCCR) calendar. My life has not always been as happy as it is now. I was found wandering the streets of Long Beach. That’s difficult enough for any dog, but I am a senior guy, blind and deaf. I became extremely undernourished. Living without anyone to care for me left me with no fur on the top of my back due to flea related allergies. It was at this time that a kind person found me and took me to a shelter, but my chances for adoption were bleak. Then a miracle happened. The angels of SCCR rescued me and took me to join others like me in their Bed and Biscuit sanctuary program. Under the care of my wonderful Aunt Carolyn, they took me to a vet and began treatments for my allergies. I didn’t have to forage for food anymore. Plus, I got to sleep on a doggie bed and had other cocker friends to keep me company. Aunt Carolyn and her staff gave me lots of love and nicked named me “Groovin’ Grover.” They even made me the poster boy of Bed and Biscuit. Then something amazing happened. I was adopted!! I have a mom, dad and a cocker brother. They adore me and I have a forever home. My dream came true and I am asking for your vote and support so others in my situation can be saved. Any donation will help and you may also consider fostering or adopting one of my friends. SCCR rescues cockers of all ages. Please spread the word about this wonderful organization because everyone deserves a second chance. You can check out their website at secondchancecockerrescue.org. Thank you.
