Samantha Kluk wrote -Brilla was adopted five years ago from a New England based rescue after being pulled out of a kill shelter in Arkansas. She was about a year or two old and came to me a very sick pup, unwilling to eat on her own and very lethargic. Eventually she was diagnosed with pneumonia and so for the first two weeks I hand fed and medicated her, trying to get her better. Luckily she rebounded and quickly became the vibrant, friendly dog she is today. These days Brilla loves walking around our block and playing with all the kids and being the unofficial mascot of Lower East Side Animal Hospital, showing off her big personality, small size and pink mohawk!
