Wahoos Field of Dreams
Organized by: Evan McNamara
At some point in our lives we've all played an organized sport and created lasting memories. The Lynnhaven Wahoos 10U youth, travel baseball team are a collection of great kids from Virginia Beach, VA who simply love playing baseball with each other. The team formed in the summer of 2012 when most of the kids couldn't catch, couldn't field, couldn't throw, and couldn't hit. However, they all had a passion for the game, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and get better. In their first full fall season, the Wahoos only won 2 games, but didn't quit, stayed focused and worked incredibly hard. The following spring season they proved that hard work does pay off by finishing with a strong 35-11 record. Our goal as a team is to compete in the Cooperstown Field of Dreams tournament in the summer of 2017. As we work towards that goal, we require significant funding to continue to provide the kids with opportunities to compete and improve their games and generally, just have fun with their buddies. We are seeking to raise money that will 100% be used for the kids. We have significant needs for uniforms, equipment, tournament and umpire fees, field usage fees, etc. We have plans to compete in tournaments up and down the east coast and it is a heavy burden for the families that sacrifice a lot for their children. That is where you can help! We are hoping you can help contribute to the team as we press forward with our Cooperstown dream and continue to build lasting memories! We are also a 501(c)3, so all contributions are tax deductible. Thank you!
