The day is a collaborative effort with professional organizations as well as our local talent to bring a day of dance to our community. Technical Rehearsal will be an open event, a practice run through of the concert to be presented on stage in early evening. A liaison of the Festival will give an introduction, share background information about the production and what it takes to produce a show. This educational experience will also provide a Q&A portion with the dance professionals in an effort to establish a platform for deeper understanding of the dance works to be performed.
Tour in Motion, is a guided walking tour, which utilizes various locations of the park to present short site specific works of various dance styles. This immersive experience will explore the mobility of a dance performance and give the audience an opportunity to experience dance in an intimate setting while using unusual spaces for such presentations.
The Festival culminates in a staged concert featuring an outstanding collection of talent, including national and regional professionals performing a selection of masterpieces of both American classical and modern dance, and showcasing local advanced rising students in new choreography.
