Walk to Nicaragua
Organized by: David Viciedo
EVENT DATE Apr 09, 2016
Over 100 supporters of FNE will be walking Saturday, April 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at University of Miami’s St. Bede Chapel. The aim is to raise awareness and funds for children often living on less than $2 a day.
Participants will host international food sales, fun activities, and live entertainment for all ages.
The goal is to fundraise $10,000 that will be used to support Tengo un Sueño, a program committed to guide underprivileged children from elementary school through college.
You can create your own network of walkers all over the USA and add to our collective goal of 1,080 miles. Gather your family and friends, and walk and raise funds for Tengo Sueño. Please forward the information on to your friends, family, coworkers and online networks. Become active in the movement for education and sponsor a student today!
29 children, 1 high school, $20,000/year
Goal is for Soñadores or Dreamers to go from pre-K through college; they’re now in grades 5 and 6
Funding pays for 3 teacher/coordinator salaries, food and supplies, English classes and other enrichments. Keep in mind that donations can make a big difference. For example, if 100 attend the Walk, each collecting $20, those $2000 is about 10% of the project's annual budget--a huge contribution!
