BENEFITING: FARM SANCTUARY
When I read E. B. White's classic Charlotte's Web as a young girl, I never failed to cry at the last page. Even if I didn't read the whole book each time and only skipped ahead to the last page, I would cry.
Years later, I can see that this simple story was about more than cute farm animals or even about friendship and selfless love, but about being true to our humanity (even if we're a spider or a pig) and about doing what is right despite the possible inconvenience or hardship to ourselves.
Sadly, unlike that lucky pig Wilbur, real farm animals don't have a brilliant writer like Charlotte to protect them, so we humans have to take up the mantle and do it ourselves. We domesticated them, therefore, we are responsible for them.
For 25 years, Farm Sanctuary has relied on the Walk for Farm Animals to support its life-saving mission to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassion.
I am walking with Farm Sanctuary to give animals a voice and to challenge the cruel practices of the factory farming industry. Please support my participation in the Walk for Farm Animals by making a donation today!
