Walking in My Hoofprints
Organized by: Cindy Dumaine
I have been studying Parelli Natural Horsemanship for over 8 years now. It has made so many positive changes in not only my life, but also in the lives of the students, troubled youth and rescue horses I have had the priveledge of working with. Since the Parelli Program began to evoke so many positive changes for me, I have been working toward becomming certified to teach the program to others.
It has been a long and wonderful journey through the home-study materials to prepare me for the Instructor courses offered at the Pat Parelli International Study Center in Pagosa Springs Colorado. (A.K.A. My Harvard University).
I HAVE JUST BEEN AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP to take my first set of courses towards my Instructor-ship!, This scholarship will only cover part of my expenses this summer and next. It will cost approximately $12,000 more over the next two years for all of the courses, airfare to and from Pagosa Springs, room & board for the human (me), horse rental for each course, and room & board for the horse.
Once certified, I plan to focus on therapeutic horsemanship for at-risk youth – helping them to build the self-confidence to make positive changes in re-building their lives. I also plan to work closely with horse rescues to incorporate the Parelli methods of horsemanship into adoption practices. I believe that through better education and training methods, fewer horses will end up in rescues.
As a part of my fundraiser, for every $1,000 received, I will donate 5 hours to a local horse rescue to help re-habilitate the horses and educate the volunteers.
Please join me in my journey by donating to my fundraiser.
