Mary Ann Mierau's Fundraiser:

Walk SF Team Running for Vision Zero

THE STORY:

I'm running* the first half of the SF Marathon in support of Walk SF, San Francisco's pedestrian advocacy group.

As part of my training, I've started commuting to work two days a week by running. My usual route takes me through the Haight/Ashbury intersection and the Panhandle, then by Alamo Square, and finally I summit at Broadway with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and headlands. The pedestrians of such a beautiful city deserve better than what we have now, and Walk SF is helping us get there with its commitment to Vision Zero—an initiative to end all traffic fatalities by 2024—and other programs to make our city more safe and walkable.

I would really appreciate it if you can give any amount in support of this important cause and help improve our streets for everyone.

* I use the term loosely. I'll also be doing a lot of walking. :)

Even if I didn't run all over the city as a pedestrian, I'm an avid walker so I'm happy to support Walk SF. It's such a great way to see our beautiful and diverse city (and get cardio on those hills!) 2 years ago
