Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting about 7.5 million people in the United States. My sister and dad as well as several aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins are a part of that 7.5 million. This disease attacks the skin and joints, causing visible skin reactions (plaques, sores, dandruff-like flaking) and arthritis. It can be very painful, embarrassing and frustrating. It is not contagious, but runs in families. Scientists have not yet found a cure, but they are beginning to make huge strides thanks to genetic research. The National Psoriasis Foundation is raising funds to invest in further research, supporting the most promising scientists in this field. Please help me raise funds to support this research as well, so that we may someday find a cure for those affected by this disease.
