Wanting To See
Organized by: diane duratti
My student - I'll call her Sam (I can't reveal her name) - is a junior in high school. She has dreams of being a photographer after high school. Her family lives in poverty. (Last year a few of us got together and purchased some outfits for her. In the Spring 2014, we gave the family a dozen tomato plants to grow in their garden.) Poverty is a hardship for Sam but not her main struggle. She has an eye stigmatism. She needs glasses. This young girl is a worker. She is a dynamo. BUT, she cannot conquer everything on her own - she can go for her Driver's License but at the moment will not pass the eye test. She will be applying to college for photography - and she will become a great one, if she can see. I contribute lots of dollars to my students over a year's time. I cannot afford to purchase the glasses on my own. If you could help - I've no doubt that Sam could soar. Thank you.
