Nov 11, 2014 - We exceeded our $35,000 goal. Thank you to the Spartan Nash Foundation for helping us exceed our goal.
Today is Veteran's Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada. Today many other countries honor the service and sacrifice of their veterans as well. We want to remember warriors, veterans, and their families, around the world, for their service.
We stand behind you who have served, and your families. Warriors at Ease, and our network of over 500 teachers worldwide, are doing our utmost to make culturally-informed and trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation available to everyone in every military community who wants to support their own health and well being by practicing yoga and meditation.

The primary mission of Warriors at Ease (WAE) is to train and deploy professional yoga and meditation instructors to work military settings where they can enhance the health and well-being of service members, veterans, families, and healthcare staff.
Since 2009, WAE has trained more than 450 teachers, most of whom are now actively teaching in VA Hospitals, Veteran Centers, military bases, and military hospitals. The WAE Team has helped conduct several Department of Defense and NIH funded research studies that prove what we see every day- improvements in sleep, pain, anxiety and PTSD.
We just received our 501(c)3 tax exempt status from the IRS. So whether you donate $5, $50, $500 or more, your donation is fully tax deductible.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. The money you donate will help us to:
- Develop and deliver a program for evidence-based yoga and meditation to address Military Sexual Trauma
- Offer webinars and retreats for military families on coping with PTSD with yoga and meditation
- Fund the new Warriors at Ease yoga and meditation program at Ft Meade MD which will serve Active Duty soldiers with PTSD, their spouses, and their children.
- Create on-line web portal for servicemembers, veterans and military families with guided meditations, breathing exercises and yoga videos for coping with PTSD
News about WAE is spreading quickly and with the momentum, more enthusiasm and opportunites are coming our way. Robin Carnes, our Executive Director and co-founder was honored with the "Contribution to Society" award from the Smithsonian Institute. WAE has been featured in Yoga Journal, the Huffington Post, NPR, and Women's Day magazine, among others. And we're just getting started!
Up to this point, we at WAE have existed on a shoestring budget, paying our instructors and staff solely on the tuitions we make from our trainings. However, there is more we want to do for our veterans, and to do that, we need your help! The scope of our organization is growing, there are more and more opportunities for training service members directly.
With our recent determination from the IRS as a 501(c)3 we can now begin pursuing grant and foundation monies to support our expansion efforts. In the meantime, we're asking our supporters to consider making a donation now to help us bring on the additional help we need to prepare for and carry out our expansion efforts. Please consider making a donation to Warriors at Ease, we need your support in order to help our nation's veterans!
Sending all of our love and sincere gratitude for your commitment to our efforts to help all of those touched by the wounds of war,
Finally, we urge you to take a few minutes to see this powerful film which shows how one soldier's life was affected by meditation. https://vimeo.com/92954090
