BENEFITING: UGANDA VILLAGE PROJECT
We support households to dig latrines, construct dish drying stands, and create local hand washing facilities. In Iganga District, Uganda, less than half of all households have latrines. Uganda Village Project is addressing this by improving sanitation in rural villages. We work with a Village Health Team, a group of elected community members, to help them become model households for sanitation improvements. Then, over three months, we organize our staff, students, Village Health Team members, and local government officials to walk from house to house. Families do this all with their own hands and a lot of community support and spirit!
