BENEFITING: Swim Strong Foundation, Inc.
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2016
Water Safety Awareness Day is recognized internationally on May 15th. ... Why? Because drowning is prevalent all over the world. As a matter of fact, it is the 2nd leading cause of death globally! Even here in the US on average 10 people die due to drowning every day. For every death, 5 more are suffering life altering brain and spinal cord injuries. We need to make a positive change. Swim Strong understands that education is the key to helping people make better decisions. We use this day to partner with others in the community who want healthy and safe outcomes for their constituents. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to our scholarship fund for at risk children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford swim lessons.

Challenging children to learn the life lessons of commitment, goal setting self-discipline, persistency, team work and resiliency through competitive swimming. We provide job readiness skills that transcend the pool and are applied in the school room all the way to the board room. Inspiring strong swimmers to explore other water based sports such as water polo, synchro, surfing, rowing, kayaking, diving etc. some of which offer college scholarships.
