BENEFITING: A More Balanced World Inc
Uganda is suffering from a severe drought that is decimating the predominantly agrarian country. Many are dying from food and water shortages because of the drought.
This campaign is to help Pearl Community Empowerment Foundation (PCE), founded by Beatrice Achieng Nas, purchase and set up two water storage tanks for the people of Amor Village and Bendo Village.
Sponsors immediately came to PCE's aid to build two new water wells for the villages. Existing wells had dried up in this severe drought so the new wells are being dug at deeper depths to reach a water table further underground. Construction of the wells are almost complete. Two 10,000 liter water storage tanks are now needed to hold the new well water.
Your donation will fund two tanks, one for Amor Village and another for Bendo village. The costs include a generator to run pumps from the underground water so the flow can be controlled to 4 taps. This protects the source ground water and prevents over crowding.
The tank water will serve both villages helping 3800 people including Portland School, a school that PCE just opened and is the first primary school in the area. Also, the availability of water would facilitate irrigation for the gardens that help feed the children of Portland school.
Thank you for your contribution that will help save lives.
