TODAY is the perfect to day to consider how you can take meaningful action to give people access to safe water. Your $10 donation will buy a water backpack for a family in the Amazon. In the Ecuadorian Amazon the PackH2O plays an important role in keeping safe water safe through the cycle of use. It holds 5 gallons of water and is easily carried as a back pack from the community safe water station to the family's home. In the home the PackH2O can be hung and water safely dispensed from the packs' spigot.
The goal of this campaign is to purchase 1000 PackH2Os. This will give 600 families in 15-20 communities a way to keep their water safe in daily use. The 'Pack' reduces the danger of recontamination as well as the phyiscal problems caused by trying to carrry water in open containers or jerry cans.
A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. Most women are carrying around 5 gallons of water to use for the day. That 45 pounds of pressure compounds over time, causing pain in the shoulders, neck, head and back. The PackH2O makes carrying water easy and much safer. It's the closest thing to safe water from the tap!
