Having clean drinking water at a turn of the tap is a basic amenity many of us usually take for granted.
However, did you know that more than 30% of Cambodia’s population of 15 million has no access to clean water sources? The country has one of the highest infant mortality rates in
Asia, and many of these deaths can be attributed to waterborne diseases such as diahorrea, hepatitis A and typhoid.
For 5 days in June this year, i will volunteer with the Water for Life project with the Singapore International Foundation (SIF) to provide convenient access to clean drinking water to more than 9,000 villagers, by installing biosand water filters in rural households in the communes of Dan Run and Dam Dek in Siem Reap.
I will be paying for my own expenses but would like to raise fund to support the charity.
