In the past week, one of the biggest environmental disasters hit Brazil - the bursting of dams containing heavy-metal contaminated water which covered villages, forested areas and the Rio Doce river.
The cities of eastern Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo - where the Rio Doce river passes through- are in urgent need of safe drinking water for their citizens. Hundreds have been displaced and tens disappeared or died in this catastrophe.
My ties to this cause are many - I grew up in the state of Minas Gerais - known by its rolling hills, great food, friendly people, and its amazing biodiversity. 100% of the money will be used to buy bottles of water for those affected by the bursting of the dam.
With $500 we will be able to provide near 600 gallons of water for those in need. Weekly updates will be provided, together with receipts and pictures. Please, help this cause dear to my heart and important for so many.
