Mike and I have been part of SUFTC FOR 3 years now. We met one of the founders Judie Vivian while paddling on Maui looking for whales. She had a bright pink rash guard on so we asked her about it. She told us her story and how when she was going through treatment that she saw many women who didn't receive early screenings and some who had a hard time paying for their treatment because they were under or non-insured.
We couldn't believe it when we heard the next year that Muskegon was going to host a Stand Up for the Cure event, Thanks, Ginger Zee!!!!
Our family now has an even more important reason to be part of SUFTC. Our youngest sister Patty was diagnosed last August. Thank goodness she listened to her instincts and kept pushing to get an answer. Instead of waiting and going back in 3 months as she was told to do she kept pushing and was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer but still at STAGE 1.
Please consider donating to our team "We Cancervive". In honor of our sister and all of our family members who have been impacted by cancer.
