"I am NOT just a pretty face, I am a survivor of abuse and I have something to say on behalf of all victims and survivors,We Refuse Abuse! Lilian Agwu Ibeh
June 19, 2017
We are motivated to start this "crowdrise fundraiser" because, we have been un-derestimated and Not fully funded for the couple of years we have been in existense despite, putting years of volunteering to "consistently" advocate, empower, inspire and educate the community, on the dangers of abuse and domestic violence.
We Refuse Abuse organization has received various awards in Maryland;including the "F. Micheal Taff Award"from the City of Rockville for improving and contributing to the lives of those with disabilities, and the "County Executive Award" from Montgomery County in helping to strengthen our community ; helping people, saving lives."
The more awareness we created, our continued presence and community events have been very effective. It has been able to show some victims and survivors , how and where to seek help, know the red flags in abuse. "Tell two people if you are in abusive situation, at least one person will help you to call for help." If you are in danger, please call 911. It is important that both the abused and the abuser gets help and counselling. Most importantly, stay away from each other to prevent loss of lives. An abused person deserves to live a meaningfull life and reach their full potential. Thank you.
