We All Need A Hero

As many of you know, Out of the Pits' co-founder, Cydney Cross, is a hero to countless dogs and humans alike. She selflessly gives all of her heart, time, and resources to not only the dogs taken into rescue, but for the general public at large. Last summer, Cyd got a "Hero" of her very own - a very sweet and resilient boy who lived not-so-kind years as a stray. He finally got some luck and was taken into rescue and then hit the lottery by being adopted by his furever human, Cyd.
Well, last week Hero fell drastically ill and had to have emergency surgery. It turned out he had a foreign body obstruction that he likely had for a very long time. He was asymptomatic until the object shifted and created a life-threatening problem. He came out of surgery, but had a difficult post-operative recovery, which translated into Cyd being without her valentine Sunday and with a huge veterinary bill instead. Hero is improving slowly, but he now has a lung problem that needs careful monitoring and he still has difficulty keeping all of his meals down where they belong.
If we didn't know for a fact how many of us have been helped by Cyd, and have our own dogs because of her, we wouldn't be confident that all her friends and fans of Out of the Pits will rally for her. Without fanfare, Cyd provides so much to others, which is the primary reason we see the need to help her now. If everyone can donate just the cost of a cup of coffee, we can effortlessly take care of the veterinary bill for Hero and give Cyd some much needed peace of mind. She would never ask for herself, so her friends are doing it for her.
If you would like to confirm Hero's medical expenses, please feel free to call Troy Veterinary Hospital @ (518) 279-4668 and they will be happy to inform you that Hero is, indeed, a much-loved patient.
Thank you in advance for taking the opportunity to let Cyd know how much you appreciate and care for her and her Hero. She will feel blessed and grateful beyond measure.
