BENEFITING: IMAGINE ME FOUNDATION
I am “RELAY” the Cancer Awareness Clown, I am the Public Relation Director for the Imagine Me Foundation, as well as a spokesman of the American Cancer Society for Cheyenne, Wyoming, also working with Public Relation at Wrangler Jeans Tough Enough to Wear Pink, the Tough Enough To Wear Pink Foundation and The Bootbarn. I am writing in hopes that you can join me in my up and coming “Relay’s” Fighting Like a Girl For More Birthdays Rodeo Tour 2015. Rodeo clowns are beloved citizens of The American historic cowboy culture and pioneering lifestyle. When the ride gets tough and Cowboy is bucked off, the Bullfighters and Clowns are the fearless protectors who risk everything to get the thrown rider back to safety – much like the family members of cancer patients and survivors. As “Relay”, I promise to always raise awareness and funding for a cure. That is also why I wear pink, in honor of my Mother, and best friend Tina Butterfield.
In 2007, my mother was diagnosed with Stage I Non-Invasive Inductal Carcinoma. That long medical name sounds scary, but the common, everyday name for her condition sounded even more terrifying –she had breast cancer. Treatment seemed easy. She had a lumpectomy and seven weeks of radiation. She never even lost her hair. Cancer seemed easier than we all had feared. In 2011, my mother was diagnosed with HER2+ Stage III Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. The medical name got longer and the everyday name for her condition got more terrifying – she had aggressive breast cancer. This time, treatment was not easy. She had a double mastectomy and underwent an entire year of chemotherapy. She lost her hair. Cancer was now just as hard as we all had feared.
With the help of advances in detection and treatment funded by American Cancer Society and other organizations, my mom is alive and has been cancer free for a 3 years. My family is blessed beyond measure and looks for every opportunity to share her story to spread hope and encouragement to other families in our situation. That is why I joined Relay for Life as a member of Team Gollobith, which is a top grossing Relay for Life team in Laramie Co, Wyoming. I stand in the name of our Father God and I have been raised around both the Church and Rodeo. I believe that God is leading me down this path of Hope and Love to share His Love. I pray that you can stand with me in my fight, to stop so many from leaving us too soon. I trust in His perfect time to call us home but I also believe that He gives us Hope and Love. Love is the most important thing we can give to this world. I want to give that Love back and I want to see this world change. I want the world to know the good news of His Love. That Jesus saves and this is not our home.
Now I am teaming up with The Imagine Me Foundation and their mission of Sharing Gods Love. The Imagine Me Foundation is a 501C3 Non Profit Cancer Fighting and Love Sharing blessing from God. Founder Melissa Sampson is a gift from God. With a heart of a Lion, she and her gang at Imagine Me Foundation are moving mountains in the name of our Father God to put smiles back in the hearts of survivors, patients as well as the families of the ones we have lost. We are wanting the same outcome and that's why we feel God put us together. We have many programs lined up for this coming year. Starting rides to the Dr, Teen Centers for our you with cancer, Dances and concerts and much much more. This is so important to so many in this world. The greatest of it all is that we can not only be obedient to our Father but Share the Great News!! God loves you and his Son Jesus Christ saves us all. So I am asking that you can stand up and put your Pink or purple or blue or whatever is in your heart to Fight Like Girls to save more birthdays!! Thank you for your time and may God bless you and yours
