"What we do for ourselves dies with us . What we do for others and world remains and is immortal." - By Albert Pike
Nepal will never forget the disastrous morning of April 25 when it was hit by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake. The capital city of Kathmandu was severly affected with over 4000 deaths reported. Aftershocks have been ongoing with avalanches in the bearby mountain regions where many climbers have lost their lives. Numerous villages have been completely erased, thousands of people rendered homeless and several of Nepalese heritage sites scattered to pieces. Many of the worst hit villages in the ridges around kathmandu still remain a black hole, surrounded by land slides that make them inaccessible. One cannot forecast the amount of effort that will be needed to help Nepal bring itself together. The country is battered and mourning for humanitarian support.
To lend a helping hand in this difficult time, we are attempting to raise an amount of $2000 which will directly go to the American Red Cross. Every cent that you donate for this relief fund will enable humanitarian aid across numerous in need. We aim to spread the word by dedicating our coming 2015 Brookyln Half Marathon to this noble cause. Join us in comforting our friends in distress and making an impact to reassemble Nepal!
