WELL TAILS Expansion Project Fall 2016
Organized by: Nix Hutch
WELL TAILS is a rising non profit organization catered to the rescue, rehab, training, and safe placement of horses and other animals in need. Our emphasis is on serving badly abused horses and other extreme trauma cases requiring diligent psychological as well as physical rehabilitation to achieve the greatest success in their future permanent homes which we carefully select. This all takes enormous amounts of time, patience, and funding. Since 2012 we have operated almost 100% out of pocket, but with a line of horses at our gates (almost in a quite literal sense,) we are now finally starting up a fund-booster to expand our budget to accommodate for more of these animals desperate for the highly specialized assistance that WELL TAILS is able to provide. One of our immediate goals is to pay the $70 file fee to incorporate as a non-profit organization in Florida and get our 501c3 non profit status filed with the IRS so that future donations will be tax deductible, but as of yet the money we are raking in goes to our minimum $300 weekly feed bill and $800 monthly rent and our budget is maxed at that. Next on our list of goals is to improve our facilitation with more fencing and shelter, and our third major goal is to purchase our own horse trailer which needn't be anything fancy, just sound and reliable to transport horses in need as they arise. We are on Facebook at Facebook.com/well.tails and encourage everyone to like and follow our work. As the director of this organization with a pending associates degree in business administration, I manage this organization single handed and work locally providing low-cost equine and training services to the public. Currently we are housing 10 horses between horses in training and owner surrenders or rescues - most of whom are trauma cases whether physical or psychological. In addition to that we have rescued 3 dogs over the last year from the kill list at our local animal shelter in Hillsborough County of Florida - one of which has found her forever home, one who is undergoing heartworm treatment here with us, and one that we just took in this past month and is just getting through the "decompression" phase often seen in animals coming out of high stress circumstances. If anyone is able to make any contribution, this makes an enormous positive impact on the work we do to not only sustain the animals we rescue, but to ensure optimum health and well-being while we search and network to find them their ultimate dream home. Thank you kindly for your attention and any and all support! We also accept donations in the form of feed (we feed seminole feed,) fresh tifton hay rolls or other high quality hays, and other equipment and supplies as needed (inquire within for a current wish list - again you can follow and contact at facebook.com/well.tails) Blessings from Nix and friends at WELL TAILS!
