BENEFITING: GHANA HEALTH AND EDUCATION INITIATIVE
On 24 May, three friends, none of whom can read a map, are attempting the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Ghana Health & Education Initiative (GHEI). Chris, Tammy and Sheila will attempt to climb Mount Snowdon (3,560 ft), Cadair Idris (2,930 ft) and Pen y Fan (2,907 ft) within 24 hours. The challenge covers over 20 miles of trekking, 180 miles of driving, and a cumulative ascent/descent of around 10,000ft.
The aim of the challenge is to raise money to support the high-impact health and education programs undertaken by GHEI in rural Ghana - programs which, amongst other achievements, help prevent malaria, promote maternal health, and provide educational opportunities to local boys and girls so that they can lead themselves and their communities out of poverty.
So if you'd like to support this fantastic organisation, please consider sponsoring us as we attempt to drag ourselves across the hills and mountain tops of Wales, hopefully without getting too lost along the way.
