I'm raising money for the American Cancer Society - in honor of my mom (breast cancer), my dad (skin cancer), my uncle (lung cancer), and in memory of my cousin (brain cancer) and in memory of my grandmother (lung cancer). So many of us are touched by cancer, whether it is personally, our spouses, families, or friends.
I've never done a Half Ironman before, so I'm going to need your help and encouragement to get me through these long months of training. I will promise to keep you posted on my training progress if you promise to help me. I signed up for the Chattanooga Half Ironman competition to be held on May 22, 2016. This is a triathlon that starts with a 1.2 mile swim, followed immediately by a 50.6 mile bike ride, followed immediately by a 13.1 mile run.
The American Cancer Society is such a positive force in this world and helps so many people. They help connect people who need rides to their cancer treatment, they help with lodging during their treatment, they fund ground breaking research, and they have a 24/7 help line that anyone can call for help and information for no cost. I think they are worthy charity and I hope you will help me support them.
You can help by:
- pledge a dollar amount for every hour I train
- Pledge a dollar amount for every mile I train
- Give a one time gift
- Give a recurring gift
- Write me a note and encourage me to continue. Bolster my courage and determination.
- Let me know if you think I should do this Triathlon as a Brunette or a Blond. (I was blond for my first Olympic length Tri)
Thank you in advance for your help and support!
