Due to the rise of autism spectrum disorders along with all other special needs that children are facing, I want to open a facility where these children can come and have the sensory diet needs met as well as interact with other children while being cared for by early childhood educators who have a designation for special needs.
Being a mother of 2 autistic children, I know what I need in order to get my errands done or ensure that my children are looked after. With this project, parents do not have to apply for respite care nor do they have to employ a one on one worker for their children. They can feel confident knowing that their children will be accepted and cared for by caring individuals who are able to handle the different situations that may arise with special needs children.
We live in an area where there is no other facility like this, so I feel as though it would be great for the community. I also plan on hosting information nights with IBI/ABA therapists, naturapathic doctors and other community leaders, so families don't feel like they are on this journey alone.
