West Coast Beach cleanup trip
Organized by: Alexander Tyler
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read and check out our campaign! We are eight recent University of Seattle graduates/close friends with backgrounds ranging from Marine Biology, Chemistry, Botany, Geology & geography. The eight of us are young men and women dedicated to educating ourselves and others about our planet and sustaining the environment for future generations. The West Coast of the United States stretches from beautiful Northern Washington State all the way south to San Diego over 11,000 miles in distance. There are nearly 48 million people living in Washington State, Oregon & California combined and nearly 40% of those 48 million people travel to and use our beaches! That is a lot people and a lot of people are senseless and careless and do not pick up after themselves and litter our beautiful beaches with trash and debris. These kind of selfish acts are leaving our coasts devastated and filthy. We must protect our precious water and coasts and pick up after ourselves. Together, our group of 8 plan to drive the 11,000 miles from Blaine, WA all the way down to San Diego, CA. Our intentions are to clean and help sustain as much of our beautiful coastline down the beautiful coastal 101. We are 8 recent graduates and cannot fund this mission on our own. We need all the help we can get to make our mission a success! Our goal is to begin our mission on April 4th, 2017 in beautiful Blaine, WA and will take approximately 45 days to complete. The ocean is a vital necessity and we must protect it at all costs! Anything helps, we sure do appreciate the support!
