“The West Alabama Food Bank’s mission is to help alleviate hunger and food insecurity in nine West Alabama counties.”
Since 1987 the West Alabama Food Bank (WAFB) has worked diligently to help provide food for the less fortunate. In 2011 the WAFB distributed nearly three million pounds of food through 80 volunteer agencies in an effort to provide food for the needy. Unfortunately, there are still unmet needs in the area.
The WAFB is an organization that is devoted to doing everything possible to solicit, collect, inspect, clean, process, warehouse, and distribute surplus, salvageable, donated and purchased food in order to serve the needy.
