EVENT DATE: Jun 27, 2013
If you've never heard of Young Life, then you or someone you know has been missing out. Young Life has changed my life in such an amazing way and it all came together for me at Frontier Ranch, a Young Life camp in Colorado. Young Life camps provide teenagers with an opportunity to experience the greatest week of their lives. Not only through the laughter and friendships that are created, but more importantly because of the opportunity they have to consider a relationship with God.
I am a Young Life leader in Charleston, SC and we will be taking as many high school kids as we can to camp at Rockbridge in Virginia during the summer of 2013. It is my goal and vision to be able to look one of those kids in the eyes and honestly tell them that if they want to go to camp, I will pay every cent and that all they need is their parents' permission.
I’m also going back to Colorado to serve as a member of the Summer Staff for 3 weeks. Summer Staff is a volunteer position for college students and college-aged students who wish to serve kids coming to camp by working in different areas of the camp. This year, I will be working the ropes course at Frontier Ranch.
This spring, I will have a job and will be saving the majority of that money to pay for both Summer Staff and kids’ camp funds. What I am asking you to do is just consider helping change a life for the better. You don't have to give $100, or even $50 or $20. Literally, every dollar counts so if you can only give $1, I will gladly accept it on behalf of the kid who is going to have the best week of their life.
PS - To your left, you'll find some pictures and videos of my time with West Ashley Young Life as well as my time at Frontier Ranch (both as a camper and serving on Summer Staff)
