BENEFITING: WESTCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: WESTCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION
I’m running the TCS New York City Marathon to benefit the patients of MidHudson Regional Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
While at work, I serve our hospital’s most critically ill and injured patients as a registered nurse in the emergency department, providing lifesaving care and support to our team of amazing emergency physicians.
My running career began when I was a sophomore in high school and some friends convinced me to join the track team so we could all participate together. Little did I know that I would fall in love with this amazing sport. Through college, I ran any distance between 60 and 3,000 meters, but I especially enjoy long distance running, as it allows me to explore my surroundings far beyond what you see on a typical track.
Over the past few years, I’ve challenged myself by running half-marathons, even completing three in the last year alone. But my ultimate goal has always been to run a marathon, and I’m excited about pushing myself to finish my first 26.2-mile race. The TCS New York City Marathon is an elite event, and accomplishing my goal on one of the biggest stages in my sport while raising money for the amazing patients at MidHudson Regional Hospital is a dream come true.
MidHudson Regional Hospital, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, is home to the mid-Hudson Valley’s most advanced healthcare services. This 243-bed facility cares for more than 10,000 inpatients annually while performing hundreds of thousands of outpatient procedures each year. The Hospital operates the area’s only ACS-verified Level II trauma center, is home to the Redl Center for Cancer Care and Center for Robotic Surgery, and operates one of the busiest emergency departments in the region, with most patients seeing a healthcare provider in 30 minutes or less.
I can’t wait to run my first TCS New York City Marathon to support our patients at MidHudson Regional Hospital, and I appreciate your support.
