I’ve been an avid runner since middle school, but was in a bad car accident when I was 21 in which I required several surgeries. I had physical therapy for over a year in order to get myself back into running. This accident was the best thing to happen to me because it made me realize I wanted to be a physical therapist.
I attended New York Medical College to obtain my doctorate of physical therapy. My last clinical affiliation was at Westchester Medical Center where I was trained by the trauma physical therapists in the Trauma ICU. After a week of training, I realized this is where I wanted to be when I graduated! I wanted to be where I could work with our region’s most severely injured patients. In January 2015, I received the call and was offered a physical therapist position! I am beyond excited to work at Westchester Medical Center, especially as the trauma Physical Therapist. I love working in the Trauma ICU and I am very proud to be a part of such an amazing team and family.
I am excited to go the distance and complete the TCS New York City Marathon for our patients just as they are pushing themselves in their own personal "recovery" marathon.
